The Perfect Storm: The Impact of Climate Change and the Economic Crisis on Children and Adolescents in Guatemala
In 2010, UNICEF Guatemala developed a research project on the impact of the global economic crisis and climate change on children and adolescents in the country, which has been based on three main sources: a qualitative study among rural families on economic crisis and food price increase, a UNICEF/IOM survey (2009) about the impact of crisis on households that receive remittances and an analysis of public expenditure on childhood and adolescence.
